Sue Wicks is a former American professional basketball player who is most notably known for her career in the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). Born on November 28, 1966, in Center Moriches, New York, Wicks played for the New York Liberty from 1997 to 2002.
As a power forward, Wicks stood out for her versatility, athleticism, and skills on both ends of the court. At 6 feet 3 inches, Wicks possessed an imposing presence, making her an influential figure during her time in the league. She was known for her ability to score effectively in the paint, grab rebounds, and play solid defense.
Wicks enjoyed a successful college career at Rutgers University, where she played from 1984 to 1988. She was a key player in leading the Rutgers Scarlet Knights to the 1987 Final Four, leaving an indelible mark on the program.
Following her retirement from professional basketball, Sue Wicks transitioned to coaching. She served as an assistant coach for Rutgers University from 2010 to 2016, where she continued to contribute to the growth of the program.
